3 Ways You Can Use Instagram To Find Ideal Clients

Be Active on ALL Parts of Instagram

  • Instagram is constantly evolving and keeping up with the trends is essential. Things you NEED to be doing:

    • Post to feed 2-3x week

    • Post to stories DAILY

    • Post to reels 3-4 times/week

    • Post guides 1x month

  • Feed posts are important because the captions are where the meat of your content is. This is where you can share the most detail about your business, your personal life, or provide tips. Stories are helpful for putting a face to your brand. People want to learn more about you and what it is you do so stories are where you can share behind the scenes stuff, client success stories, or just a little more about your personal life, hobbies, and interests. Reels are the best way to grow your account quickly. Reels are an evergreen form of content so people can continue to see them days, weeks, or months from now. This makes it so more people will find your account now and in the future. Another benefit is that Instagram favors Reels so the more you post, the more the algorithm will push them.

Connect With Your Ideal Clients

  • Find your ideal clients; follow them and engage with their content. Do NOT slide in their DMs and pitch yourself right away. People can smell a sales pitch from a mile away and it is an instant turn-off. The best thing to do is simply start a conversation with them. Consider asking them a question about what they do, how long they have been in business, things like that. Build a relationship and get to know them on a personal level and you will be the first person that comes to mind when they are looking for a Virtual Assistant, Social Media Manager, etc.

Have a Cohesive and Curated Feed

  • People need to like your account before they even click on a picture. You want potential clients to be drawn to your page because it looks nice and professional. This will then lead them to click on the photos and get to know more about you and your business through your captions. Because of this, making sure your feed looks cohesive, well-planned, and follows a general theme is vital.

  • Things you can do or focus on when creating a brand identity for your page:

    • Color scheme (3-5 colors is best. No need to go too crazy)

    • Fonts that pair well together. I have 3 I use (heading, subheading, and body text)

    • Brand photography; this can be photos of you in professional dress, in an office space or coffee shop area, etc. These should be similar in style, color, and quality. High quality photography is one of the best investments you can make for your brand!
